I have a thing for document holders. They are like a mix between a handbag and computer-bag, and I use them as just that. When I saw this one at The Corner, I feel in love. Not only with the item itself, but also with the styling that The Corner did with the models clothes. I am a sucker for wearing clothes that are in the same color scheme, and the blue on blue with the blue document holder is to die for.

Wallpaper* - March Issue: Style Special

My favorite lifestyle magazine Wallpaper*, or should I say Bible, is coming out with a ”Style Special” issue for March. The entire issue is filled with fashion from designers and creators that many of us see as our favorite ones. The cover comes in two versions, one in 2D and one in 3D, which is a limited edition cover. Both covers are created by Maurizio Cattelan together with his photographic collaborator Pierpaolo Ferrari.

The fashion issue includes a special feature with 10 Corso Como’s founder Carla Sozzani and Azzedine Alaïa that was created by Alice Rawsthorn, the design critic from the International Herald Tribune, a peek at Reed Krakoff’s Chelsea studio where he has his massive collection of design and art, an editorial shot by Lucas Blalock and styled by James Valeri and my favorite thing that is returning from the last style issue, Wallpaper* Fashion Maths.

Also, as Versace is going thru somewhat of a revival, they have styled a page for Donatella’s favorite dish Pasta ai Caviale. It is a simple yet extravagant styled dinner, which I can imagine the empress of Versace to sit and eat in her Milano home wearing her famous yellow diamond ring.

The issue is out now, so get ready to get it.

The Weekend

I have had a great weekend. It all started on friday with me going to a gala. The whole thing was ok and I did have fun. It wasn't like a super gala, even though I think that there were around 400 people there.

Anyhow, the important thing was what I was wearing...or not. I just tried to look classic, all dressed in black and white. Since my hair hasn't been cut for some time now I had to basically glue it to my head. But no one knew except for me, and I must say that I felt rather dashing.

The rest off the weekend was truly relaxing, but at times with some activity...but I can tell you that I tried to do as little as possible. I hope that all of you boys and girls had fun during the weekend.

Sofia Coppola has directed the new commercial for ”Marni at H&M”. The whole film was shot in Marrakesh, Morocco and the feeling to the commercial is very warm. It gives Marni the right interpretation, which is the true Italian style that I see as “Intelligent Fashion”. “Intelligent Fashion” is the complete opposite of “Over the Top Fashion”, and I see Marni as the opposite to H&M’s collaboration with Versace. Can’t wait for this collection to hit the stores.

Fun Fun Fun

Copenhagen Fashion Week has ended. I went and I had fun. Well, I had a blast during the weekend. My friend Johanna and I went partying, and I can tell you that we have only partied once before. Simons was our destination during Saturday. The club is great and the music even better. After Simons I ended up at another party with people that I basically did not know. I did knew one person at that party, but the rest were brand new to me.

I stepped out of my comfort zone and just went with it, and I ended up having a great time. I used to be one of those people that always stepped out of comfort zone just to explore and try new things. But since I have become older…well I have started to become somewhat of a chicken. Afraid, staying in and not having fun. Well those days are over and I am going to have fun…in moderate amounts. I still sound like an old person, but I got to take baby steps.

I got my new jacket and shoes the other day. The jacket is perfect and the shoes are nice. The funny thing was that they are practically the same color as one pair of chinos that I have. Is that a good or bad thing? I think it's kind of cool. The jacket is great, but the picture that I took at H&M is really bad. You can't really see anything at all. Me, me, me

When this is being posted, it will be Copenhagen Fashion Week. But for now, I am sitting in my kitchen and I'm thinking about what people have been saying for the last two weeks. It is very seldom that I become emotional, or write about personal things on my blog. However now I will be a bit personal and it is thanks to this picture.

Last saturday I went out partying with some friends. We had dinner and then went out for drinks. These 4 girls did their very best to get my spirits up, and it felt great. But at the end of the evening everyone was taking pictures and I decided to be ego and take one of myself. When I looked at this pictures I saw a Paolo that have lost over 3 kg's in 2 weeks and lost some of that spark in his eyes.

But I have come to the conclusion that I have to put my self first. I never do that usually, everyone else comes first. I want the people around me to feel good, to be happy and have a great time. I will continue to do that, but I will do that after I have made me happy first. So now it will be more something like "Me, myself and I". I need to gain those 3 kg's or even 5 kg's, and do what I feel is right. I recommend everyone else to do the same.

Francesco Vezzoli - La Nuova Dolce Vita

This man, Francesco Vezzoli, is wonderful. Somewhat crazy, but still brilliant. He had an exihbition at Fondazione Prada last year that I missed, but, here is the video for that show called "La Nuova Dolce Vita". He is almost a mix a Dalí and Fellini. I love Eva Mendes here in the trailer, she looks just like a movie star should.

It's out and in stores now, the Wallpaper* Design Awards 2012. The best of the best in design, fashion and lifestyle is listed and awarded by our favourite magazine.

The 11th of January was the date for the exclusive event when the winners were celebrated. A selected jury decided eleven of the awards, and the rest of the winners were selected by editors and international contributors. London won for best city, and honestly I can understand that, even though it's a city that sometimes can be somewhat confusing. But I was thrilled to read that Raf Simons won for best men's fashion collection 2011. Mr Simons is one of those few brands that incorporate true belgian design, the somewhat avant garde with high tech. I'm only posting the judges list and also the Best In Show list.

I was going thru the mens fashion shows after Milan and when I was looking at the Hermès show I spotted my friend Henrik. That was amazing. We will see more of him, I know that. The funny thing is that I had him on my header last year and as you all can see he is HUGE. I have done two shoots with him and I always feel like David standing next to Goliath.

I miss summer. I miss wearing a normal amount of clothes, not layers and layers of clothes just to keep warm. Scaninavian weather isn't the best during winter time. It's cold, rainy, snowy and windy. When I mention windy, I mean storms that will will kill anyone that walks outside, maybe I'm exaggerating but I hate it.

The only time that this kind of weather is ok, is if you have someone to share it with. To keep warm with a hot cup of tea, a glas of wine in front of a fireplace or watching a film nestled togheter to keep the body heat at a higher level.

But now I feel that I want to be outside, watching people, wear nice clothes and get a tan. Can't wait for it.

This is not the most expensive brand on the market, but it works perfectly with my skin. The thing is that I have tried tons and tons of creams and scrubs, and they are all ok. Underwear is something tricky for many guys. Some wear boxers, other shorts and some briefs. How stupid it may sound it is also a cultural aspect that can direct one in what to wear under ones chinos or jeans.
Americans and northern Europeans usually wear boxer short or tight boxers. Souther Europeans, south Americans and in the eastern parts of Europe such as in Poland the guys probably would wear briefs. But fashion wise now days guys tend to go for briefs or a tighter model of boxers due to the way a chino or a jean fits. Wearing a pant that hugs ones legs more then a loser pant, means that it can be impossible to wear something that is loose. Everything will bulge and it will make your pants look awful.

I decided to show what I wear and these three models of underwear from Dolce&Gabbana, Calvin Klein and Jac5 is what I sport. For me Dolce&Gabbana makes the best underwear in the world, followed by Calvin Klein and Jac5 in shared second place. The Calvin Klein's are classics that have been around for as long as I can remember and Dolce&Gabbana took over from Versace in making their brief to an iconic piece of clothing. For a male model, being in one of mr Gabbana and mr Dolce underwear campaign can elevate a normal model into super stardom.

Loro Piana, an italian heritage brand, produce some of the worlds most beautiful clothes. I have been to their store on Montenapoleone in Milano, and it's one of those stores that feels like you got invited to someones home. It's warm and very italian, classic italian.

I visited their webshop and found their knitwear. I like these four styles, the girocollo, cardigan, scollo v and my favorite treccia. The treccia is made from baby cashmere and the style of the sweater would be perfect with a pair of jeans, cognac colored brogues and a nice quilted jacket. These sweaters are perfect for fall, winter and even spring. Loro Piana wear are true timeless classics.

I just woke up, it's 09:18 and I'm sitting in my kitchen reading Wallpaper* and Monsieur. I always get really inspired by these magazine's. In the January issue of Wallpaper* I got hooked on the articles on Fashion Graduates o pages 86 to 89. Seeing new designers showing what they are capable of creating is inspiring. My favorites are Hannah Taylor and Saskia Schijen both from the Royal college of Art, UK. But the issue is great in the whole, a preview of the W*Design Awards is always exciting to read.

Monsieur is in french. I understands some of the articles, but it takes time for me since I don't speak french. However the brilliance of this magazine is in the compositions of the fashion articles. How they show outfits, what to wear and how. The editorials are always great, and the classic style that Monsieur represent is the style that I like the most.

Hair Styles

Hair is important. How it looks, how it makes one feel and how it goes with your personal style. Since I did get my hair cut yesterday I decided to show you haircuts that I like. I like many different ones, but these are ones that I could consider having or that I actually already had in one way or the other. One day I'll interview Ida so that she can tell you how to style your hair and with what kind of products. She only uses Bumble & Bumble, and as a brand they make fantastic products.

These three styles that I'm showing are classic ones. The Dolce & Gabbana one is a style that I sport very often. The Gucci one is a classic 50s pop style that goes well with classic clothes and finally the one from Hermès is a laid back, out of bed, very parisian style. It is a bit as they say in Berlin "champagne kinder" style...a BoBo.

Yesterday I had the pleasure to get my hair cut by Ida. She is so busy all the time, it's almost like getting an audience with the Pope. I got the audience and now my hair looks great...again. I can't stand it when it gets to long. Does anyone remember how I looked with long hair? I do and never again I say. Short is always better and this style that I have had for the last couple of years is the style I will continue to have until Ida figures out what will look better on me.
